During the flotation process of the flotation machine, the flotation cell shall have sufficient stirring strength to fully suspend the pulp, fully contact the ore particles with the bubbles, and increase the collision probability between the ore particles and the bubbles. However, the stirring in the flotation cell shall not be too strong, resulting in the "turning over" of the pulp surface. If the "turning over" of the pulp surface occurs, the sorting environment will be damaged and it shall be handled in time. Therefore, when we operate, we must consider three aspects when determining the speed of the flotation machine.
First, it should be noted that the stirring speed should be greater than the critical speed required for solid particle suspension. Under the condition of meeting the flotation process conditions, take the value of the above formula as large as possible to meet the requirements of industrial production. The equivalent diameter of large particles in the pulp is D and 1mm, and the ore density is generally less than 4 × L03kg / m3, then (pp-p) can be taken as 3 × l03kg/m3; The solid-liquid mass ratio is generally between 20% - 40%. X = 40; Kinematic viscosity of water v = 10 ^ - 6m2 / S; The value of K is 150; For the new flotation machine, the impeller diameter d = 0.06m. Therefore, in order to make the particles fully suspended, the speed of the flotation machine must be greater than 764.92 rpm.
Second: the stirring speed shall be greater than the speed required by the dispersed gas. Taking the standard cell as an example, the flotation cell area is 0.01mz, the diameter is approximately 0.1M, and the inflation volume is 300L / H1. Therefore, the speed of the flotation machine must be greater than 1053.3rpm to fully disperse the charged air. The mixing speed should not be too high, so as not to destroy the stability of the separation area and foam area.
Third: too high rotating speed will increase the inertia force of ore particles falling off from bubbles, which is not conducive to bubble mineralization. It will also lead to too high rising turbulent flow velocity of pulp, causing "flower turning" of pulp surface, damaging the separation environment and affecting the separation. However, under different flotation conditions, the critical speed of different types of flotation machines varies greatly, and there is no unified formula, which should be selected according to practical experience. In practice, we found that the speed of flotation machine required by bauxite reverse flotation is higher than that of conventional ore flotation.
